Job Description
Overview:
This technician will be required to travel to both OSF external and internal clients - Jerseyville Community Hospital and Salem Township Hospital.

Expected pay for this position is $27.55-$40.26/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Biomedical Equipment Technician performs scheduled maintenance and builds a knowledge base of a variety of common medical devices. Examples of these medical devices are; Infusion Pumps, Centrifuges, Suction pumps, Patient Support equipment, etc. The Biomedical Equipment Technician will also provide the following services; incoming equipment inspections, installation, recall & alert activities and calibration & repair of medical devices. The Biomedical Equipment Technician may also provide the following services: incoming equipment inspections, installation, recall & alert activities and calibration & repair of medical devices.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - Must have one of the following: Completed High School Diploma/GED or Completed Associates Degree

Experience - Two to six years experience in Electronic, Mechanical, IT, or Healthcare industry

Licensure/Certifications: Valid drivers license

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: 1 year in medical device service. Human Anatomy and Physiology Medical Terminology. Advanced Biomedical Equipment Service “vendor” training (Patient monitoring, electrosurgical, infusion). Military Training in Technical Field.

License/Certifications: AAMI/ DOD, CBET or CLES certification.
