Summary:

Processes and ensures the accuracy and timely issuance of invoices to customers. Provides health care professionals with assistance with Medicare, Medicaid, Prescription Drug Plans (PDP’s) and Third-Party Insurances.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processes and prints all monthly facility invoices.
  • Notifies facilities of changes and exceptions when appropriate.
  • Runs daily ECS log report to identify denied claims for Medicare or other insurers.
  • Assists with special projects as needed.
  • Ensures patient profiles are updated with payor changes and exceptions.
  • Reviews and completes all denied claims in the ECS log for Medicare and other insurers
  • Bills any non-covered drugs to the appropriate party
  • Obtains third-party insurance information on all necessary orders.
  • Requests prior authorization on drugs that are denied for prior authorization.
  • Enters debit/credit adjustments in QS1 as needed. Complete the QS1 Adjustment Form and forward a copy to the Accounting Department.


Knowledge of:

  • Compliance with external regulatory agencies and organizations for all areas of
  • Medicare Part D Program.
  • Fundamental accounting concepts, practices, and procedures and accrual based accounting practices.
  • Federal and state regulations, facility policies, procedures and programs as pertaining to pharmacy, long term care industry and rehab services.


Skills in:

• Preparing, processing and maintaining transaction documentation, files and records.

• Gathering and compiling information and analyzing and adjusting discrepancies.

• Project management from conception to evaluation, with the ability to manage multiple tasks

simultaneously and adhere to deadlines.

• Organization with strong attention to detail.


Ability to:

• Understand and interpret claim information data.

• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

• Identify and recommend solutions to problems.

• Manage multiple tasks and deadlines accurately and efficiently.

• Maintain confidentiality and professional discretion.

• Organize, prioritize and track multiple tasks with strong attention to efficiency and detail.

• Work independently, as well as collaboratively, within a team environment.

• Provide a high level of customer service in a calm and professional manner.


Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent. Associates degree in accounting or business or related field preferred.

• One (1) to three (3) years’ billing experience. Healthcare, senior living industry, pharmacy or long-term care environment preferred.

• One (1) to three (3) year’s Medicare Part D experience.

• Minimum one (1) year multi-facility experience preferred.
