Full Time, Days. 36 hours/week.

Pay Range is between $30.81-$46.21/hr, depending on years of relevant and like experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Coordinator is vital to the quality and continuum of care offered in Behavioral Health Services of Boulder Community Health (BCH). As a BCH Behavioral Health Services clinical employee, the PHP Coordinator develops, coordinates, and maintains an evidence-based PHP program and provides staff support, supervision, and education. The PHP Coordinator is responsible for assisting in liaison with all Boulder Community Hospital programs, Boulder Mental Health Center, law enforcement, and community providers of mental health services and self-help organizations. The PHP Coordinator functions as the direct supervisor of all PHP staff.

The position necessitates:

  • Responsibility for ongoing quality and efficiency in day-to-day operations (i.e.,
  • Documentation, standards and guidelines, procedures, etc.
  • Ability to make independent decisions with accountability to BHS Director.
  • Creativity and flexibility with intake management.
  • Leadership in assessing patient and department needs, acuity, and appropriate staffing.
  • Commitment to the vision statements and the budgetary integrity of Boulder Community
  • Hospital and Behavioral Health services.
  • Positive, proactive and problem-solving attitude toward staff, which is consistently role-modeled to peers.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education or Formal Training

  • Minimum of a master’s degree or RN, plus five years’ experience in a mental health facility or recovery hospital/center setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with 12-step programs of recovery; adolescent and adult psychiatry; and solution-focused/time-effective therapy models.

Special Qualifications (licensure, registration, etc.)

Licensure appropriate to field preferred (i.e., L.P.C., L.C.S.W., R.N.)

Knowledge, Skill and Ability

  • Ability to demonstrate working in a solution-focused/time-effective therapy model.
  • Acts as a resource to all BHS staff regarding managed care contracts and insurance.
  • Knowledge of developmental issues related to the life span.
  • Clinical assessment skills; dealing with psychiatric and recovery issues resulting in appropriate placement in level of care.
  • Awareness of physical health concerns in mental health patients.
  • Excellent organizational, supervisory, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of and experience with treatment or and recovery and/or mental health issues.
  • Commitment to ongoing relevant education.
  • Awareness of legal statutes related to mental health and recovery issues.

Experience

  • Supervisory experience in a related health-care setting.
  • Prefer Clinical experience in a related setting (3-5 years).
  • Hiring, firing and corrective-action experience preferred.
  • Budgetary assistance experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains working knowledge of mental health laws, protocols, managed care contracts, insurance; educates PHP staff regarding the same.
  • Responsible for reviewing and supervising PHP staff as they carry out the above duties.
  • Utilizes time effectively, mentor and supports others in effective time management.
  • Performs effectively in stressful and/or emergency situations and demonstrates knowledge and use of emergency procedures and equipment.
  • Communicates effectively with BHS Director, BHS managers, and staff to ensure continuity of care.
  • Functions as BHS liaison, providing consultation/problem-solving between BHS programs, medical staff, community professionals and outside agencies.
  • Implements and continues to educate PHP staff regarding solution-focused therapy and clinical assessment skills.
