The starting pay for this position is $15.00 per hour, equivalent to $31,200.00 annualized for Full-Time!

Behavioral Health Technician (BHTs) are needed to work at The Grove, a residential substance misuse treatment facility for male/female adolescents. BHTs are responsible for providing guidance and support for clients during daily activities. BHTs must have a compassionate, involved, upbeat and nurturing attitude. Essential responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

• Works daily with client to provide support, encouragement, and guidance
• Recognizes crisis situations and provides appropriate interventions based on training and experience
• Acts a treatment agent for all youth in the program
• Ensures clients attend scheduled activities
• Supports the client to meet his/her life skills goals by teaching skills, providing supports, and building on individual strengths and capabilities
• Understands and maintains confidentiality of client information and records, as well as, ethical standards of practice
• Based on direct observations, provides input for clients with regard to individualized plans to achieve specific outcomes based on clients’ preferences, needs and interests.
• Uses effective and appropriate communication and terminology adapted to the range of client communication need in order to ensuring understanding
• Documents client information as appropriate

• Minimum of one (1) year professional experience in mental health/behavioral healthcare field preferred
• Valid Driver License and Auto Insurance
• The position requires walking and standing including both indoors and outdoors
• Successful background screenings through State and Local Law Enforcement and FBI; and pre-employment drug screen
• Professional demeanor, and ability to engage professionally with clients and staff at all times
• High School Diploma or GED required
