Behavior Technician
As a Behavior Technician / Registered Behavior Technician (BT/RBT), you'll work directly with children and provide applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy, which is the most frequently prescribed and clinically proven treatment for autism spectrum disorder. In this role, you will implement daily intervention plans for clients, collect relevant data, support caregivers and teachers, and collaborate with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA's) and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA) on behavior support plans and skill acquisition targets.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in ongoing assessment and evaluation of the family's goals
- Conduct therapeutic services within the home or community.
- Consistent communication and follow-ups with the agency core support team and leadership
- The behavior Technician is responsible for tracking and maintaining data collection of session activities and programs developed by supervising BCBA
- Work with a case manager in case management and coordination of services
- Participate in children's family team (CFT) conferences
- Maintain and submit weekly progress notes and required paperwork
- Complete an assessment with the family to develop appropriate/necessary recommendations for future success.
- Participate in field supervision with the Clinical Supervisor
- Provide necessary resources and support system development
- Aid children and families by addressing a range of behavioral issues for the authorized volume of hours per week
- Complete initial contact with referred families
- Provide family advocacy as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and writing skills
- Genuine interest in working with children with autism.
- Must be fingerprinted if hired BCBA / BCaBA candidate.
- Access to reliable transportation; willingness to travel
- Bachelor's degree or coursework in psychology, education or a related field preferred
- 1-2 years working with children with autism spectrum disorder
- Patience, problem-solving skills, discretion, ability to think on your feet, creativity
- Ability to enter progress notes and enter data in the agency platform
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work well with others and be an effective part of a treatment team
- BCBA / BCaBA candidates are encouraged to apply, potential growth with the company available for the right candidate
