Please Note: All candidates will need to be in possession of a valid certificate as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and meet the current Behavior Analyst Certification Board Standards for Supervision Requirements to supervise Exam Candidates and must be maintaining during tenure of appointment.

Job Summary:

Assists with the delivery of behavior interventions based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Provides support and training to school teams by providing consultation and training based on ABA.


Essential Functions

  • Periodically reviews program books, including data collection and creation of graphs to ensure that the behavioral intervention plans have been implemented with fidelity.
  • Models techniques of reinforcement, prompting, shaping, chaining, errorless teaching and error correction for school staff and families.
  • Reviews assessments completed by the Applied Behavior Analyst; provides guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Provides support school teams in the assigned network to identify barriers to inclusion and support efforts to include students in the least restrictive environment.
  • Completes VB-Mapp Assessments, Functional Behavior Assessments and Positive Behavior Support Plans.
  • Ensures that school teams collect and analyze data to monitor the progress of students.
  • Ensures that school teams have received the necessary training to manage challenging behaviors, select behavior interventions, complete Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs) and monitor progress on behavior interventions.
  • Monitors and develops training on behavior management strategies and assessments to address challenging behaviors in the classroom setting.
  • Ensures that best practices for behavior analysis are adhered to by the Applied Behavior Analysts and school teams.
  • Ensures implementation of the recommendations made by the Behavior Coordinator.
  • Develops systems of reinforcement and provides Behavior Skills Training.
  • Provides training to classroom staff on writing behavior goals IEPs that accurately reflect students’ needs and potential.
  • Provides guidance to the Applied Behavior Analyst as they assist school teams with assessing the needs of students in terms of skill acquisition and behavior management programs.
  • Supports teachers with classroom layout and creating classroom schedules; assists with preference assessments.
  • Utilizes the preference assessments, skills acquisition programs, social emotional learning strategies, function based interventions, and specific methods and procedures including but not limited to, Intensive Teaching (IT), Discrete Trail (DT), Natural Environment Training (NET) Pivotal Response Training (PRT), and Functional Communication Training.
Qualifications


Minimum Requirements

  • Two years of full-time, paid professional experience working with students with Autism and/or Emotional Disturbance developing Functional Behavioral Assessments, behavior plans and providing training on behavioral interventions, classroom management and intervention techniques such as positive behavior intervention, Applied Behavior Analysis (Discrete Trial Training), Picture Exchange Communication System, positive behavior intervention, social skills training, and communication training.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, applied behavioral sciences, psychology or other related fields.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of:
