The Bartender is responsible for ensuring that all Resort guests have the highest quality beverage/bar experience possible while maintaining a profitable department that is environmentally responsible. He / She is required to follow the brand standards from the beginning of the service cycle through the entire process, and will exhibit strong beverage/wine knowledge, professional and gracious service while enhancing the guest experience through outstanding service skills.

This position is expected to handle all opening and/or closing duties required to properly operate any resort bar, service bar or banquet bar. Some of those duties include; making sure that all stocking is done, the back bar is displayed according to standards, wells are filled with ice and the bar/lounge area is clean and ready for service.


An ideal candidate should be capable of multi-tasking and working at a fast, but thorough pace. He / She should be able to partner well with other bartenders, servers and bar backs to provide a "seamless experience" for guests. This individual is also responsible for various administrative tasks up to and including: maintaining par levels, submitting daily/weekly orders, and conducts daily/weekly inventory. Other duties as assigned.


Job Specifications:

  • Expected Pay Range: $9.54 - $10.93. Guaranteed $20 minimum inclusive of tips.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Must be knowledgeable in the preparation of all food and alcohol menu items.
  • Must maintain stock levels throughout the day.
  • Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
  • Clear and reset tables in bar area.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the preparation of various alcoholic beverages including mixed drinks, wine, and beer.
  • Ensures smooth, efficient and sanitary bar operations, as well as cash handling and providing change for the servers.
  • Be available to fill in as needed as a server to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
  • Learns the names and personally recognizes regulars and hotel guests.


Qualifications:

  • Current TIPS certification for responsible service of alcohol. -required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a bartender in an upscale Food & Beverage hotel/resort. -preferred
  • Point of Sales experience. –preferred
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. -required
  • Must be able to effectively present detailed information both verbally and in written form to guests and fellow employees. -required
  • High school diploma or equivalent. -required
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex correspondence. -required
  • Must have a friendly and courteous attitude towards guests - required.
  • Experienced in all phases of Beverage operations. -preferred
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English both written and verbal. -required
  • Knows common drink recipes and is able to learn and apply all menu recipes within short time. -required

The expected pay range is $9.54 - $10.93. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
