POSITION SUMMARY

Our Data Analyst represents the Bank and our culture of YES in every transaction and customer interaction. This individual is responsible for complex reporting projects that gather and integrate large volumes of data, performs in depth analysis, interprets results and develops actionable insights and recommendations for use across the Bank. As a member of our Bank Operations, this position serves an integral role on our data analysis team and will work hand-in-hand with numerous departments to ensure execution of the Bank’s strategic vision. Success in this role requires excellent communication, project and time management skills, and a collaborative mindset.

We are currently searching for high-potential people to join our team at our Downtown Austin offices, soon to be located at 600 West 5th Street. This position requires you to be in-office.

WHAT WILL I DO?

This role is responsible for moderately complex data analysis, preparation, and visualization. They will use their technical and domain expertise to translate core and online banking data into meaningful insights for teams and leaders to confidently act on, and will play a critical role in the success of the organization’s data analysis function:

• Collaborate with data engineers to develop new reporting as needed and perform data validation and testing activities as appropriate.
• Work directly with internal customers to refine requirements and validate output to ensure solutions will meet expectations, with a focus on streamlining processes and creating efficiencies.
• Other duties as assigned and/or taken on.
• Conduct moderately complex data profiling and analysis to evaluate data and determine the best source for desired information.
• Acquire, transform, and translate data into actionable dashboards and reports at the direction of Management.
• Perform moderately complex statistical analysis and present findings to guide, influence and advise leadership. This person will have direct input and ownership of reports used across the organization all the way up to the board level.

Specific requirements include:

• Familiarity with all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Demonstrated understanding of data profiling, statistical analysis, and data modeling concepts.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel/csv file experience.
• Proficiency in analytics programming languages (SQL/R/Python).
• Optimistic, internally motivated, team-oriented personality; and,
• Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, computer science or related business field and 1-3+ years data analysis experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties of this position.
• Proficiency in extracting and leveraging data out of data warehouse, transactional databases, object stores & API based environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Ability to make decisions, create change, and help grow a company – while growing yourself.

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Experience with online banking platforms.
• Atlassian JIRA or Confluence experience or similar project management tools used to manage report/software development projects.
• Experience with CSI/NuPoint or other banking core system(s).
• In-depth knowledge of data stored in company databases as well as emerging trends in business intelligence technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of the banking/finance industry and competitor landscape
• 1-3+ years banking experience
• Demonstrated expertise with modern BI toolsets (Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, or equivalent).
