Job Description
Position Summary Details

ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a bag handler. The bag handler is responsible for assisting the airline ticket counter staff with the loading of passenger luggage onto the conveyer belt and spacing out luggage to prevent luggage jams on the conveyor belt.

$17.50 an hour the pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Essential Functions
  • Resourceful when dealing with mishandled baggage by tracing and reuniting customers with their belongings
  • Ability to be empathetic, mindful and helpful to customers who have been separated from the belongings
Responsibilities
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Screens all interline passengers prior to placing bags on the interline return belts
  • Direct and assist passengers with mischecked or short-checked bags
  • Evaluates customer’s need concerning airline locations
  • Ability to read IATA tickets to determine flight departure times and connecting carriers
  • Is able to meet the Station’s attendance standards
  • Handles misplaced/lost baggage claims and provides reports to Carriers
  • Ensures baggage tagging is correct
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge and Customs Seal (if applicable), including ten-year work history if available.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 yr of similar work experience
  • Customer Service Experience
