Backend Java Developer (Hybrid)

Position Summary:

As a

Backend

Java Developer on the FMS (Financial Management Systems) Team, you will work among professionals continuously developing core functionality, streamlining operations

, i ncreasing complexity, and enhancing the data integration and quality of our Reinsurance Administration system. Additionally, you will focus on building the Reinsurance Administration system to be scalable, flexible , and progressing toward analytics

• You will leverage engineering best practices and your effective communication skills to do quality work and to drive innovation in a highly collaborative, agile atmosphere.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Perform analysis, design, development, testing, integration, and implementation activities of varying complexity.

Work on established systems and customized insurance products

Design new technology solutions addressing business needs by partnering with business stakeholders, team members, architects, and other technical partners.

Collaborate with team members to peer review deliverables, maintain team quality/standards, and document technical processes for knowledge sharing.

Perform periodic health checks of team’s technical portfolio and proactively recommend designs for continuous improvement.

Envision the future of our technology roadmap.

Qualifications:

Experience in contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling).

Java, SQL, Spring experience.

Foundational understanding of AWS technology stack.

Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Tomcat Application Server.

Experience with JavaScript.

Experience using tools for code migration and deployment, such as GitHub Actions.

Experience with site and performance monitoring tools, like Dynatrace and Splunk.

Understanding of DevOps CI/CD.

Experience with Business Objects or Tableau. **This position will be in a hybrid working arrangement.**
