B Level Service Technician

Position: B-Level Technician
Reports To: Service Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
The B-Tech is a critical position in the service department. This position assists with various automotive repair work, support advanced-level technicians in the shop, and acts as a mentor for entry-level technicians.
Realize that during any interaction with customers, the employee should remember the HERO (Helpful, Exceeds expectations, Represents us well, takes Ownership) program. Also, the customer is the highest priority of any employee of Wilson County Motors.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Perform work specified on the repair order efficiently and per dealership procedures.
• Complete assigned training as directed by the supervisor, which is funded by the dealership.

REQUIRED SKILLS And ABILITIES

• Two or more years of experience performing the same or similar job duties, including diagnostics, electrical, and engine repair on cars and light-duty trucks.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work/education combination.
• Must have appropriate hand tools to perform the job.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to learn new technology, service procedures, and specifications.

JOB EXPECTATIONS and REQUIRMENTS:

• Perform work safely following company safety guidelines.
• Follow manufacturer and company procedures when performing repairs.
• Hourly employees must clock in and out using the Company’s time recording system.
• Arrive at your place of work on time as scheduled.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
May be standing for up to 100% of the shift and operating machinery applicable to the job. It may require lifting, pushing, or pulling weights of more than 40 lbs. Duties will be performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
