Job Description

Overview

The GBS Group, an engineering services and consulting firm, is seeking an AVEVA/ Wonderware HMI Developer to join our Philadelphia Engineering Office. The GBS Group designs and delivers high technology services and solutions to most advanced naval and maritime ships, as well as to special purpose platforms and assets. Our office is located at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, which is a dynamic urban development, offering the Philadelphia region a unique and centrally-located waterfront business campus committed to smart energy innovation and sustainability. The Navy Yard has over 20 acres of parks, one mile of waterfront trail and is located less than one-half mile from the Wells Fargo Center, Lincoln Financial Field, Citizens Bank Park, as well as the retail/entertainment center Xfinity Live!


Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following professional experience and qualifications:

  • Developing Human Machine Interface (HMI) / Graphical User Interface (GUI) applications with AVEVA/ Wonderware software
  • Ability & willingness to travel
  • Reviewing and interpreting plant drawings, machinery specifications, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and automation sequences of operations.
  • Active Secret level security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one. (US Citizenship Required)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience and or knowledge of the following
    • Developing Human Machine Interface (HMI) / Graphical User Interface (GUI) applications with AVEVA/ Wonderware software
    • Reviewing and interpreting plant drawings, machinery specifications, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and automation sequences of operations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering

Desired Characteristics:

  • CompTIA Security+ and Windows 10 Certifications
  • 2-5 years of HMI software development experience
  • Designing, developing, testing, documenting and maintaining Industrial Control System software or building automation systems
  • Basic network troubleshooting of Industrial Control Systems
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise Operating System
