The pay range listed above reflects the FULL pay range for this position. Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

We provide services to our community by maintaining vehicles that journey over 24 million miles a year, covering 9,224 square miles of Maricopa County. We Require


  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of general automotive experience


We Also Value


  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification
  • Completion of two years of an automotive trade school


Job Contributions


  • Maintain accurate inventory of parts and services
  • Ensure shop safety and cleanliness and abides by safety policies; identify safety hazards and reports unsafe conditions to supervisor
  • Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment
  • Maintain service records and prepares reports to input information into the fleet tracking system
  • Consult with supervisor on vehicular problems and performance
  • Conduct road tests on vehicles
  • Perform general repairs on a variety of light-duty vehicles and equipment in an industrial shop environment
  • Inspect and diagnose vehicles


Working Conditions


  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s liscense by the time of hire
  • High physical work volumes, standing for prolonged periods and working in a confined environment. Work is performed in an industrial shop setting. Must be able to work in all-weather types (extreme heat, cold, wind, rain). Must wear Job Protective Equipment (i.e., uniforms, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes). Must be able to hear, see, climb, crouch, bend, and lift/carry 50 pounds with or without the assistance of a cart or device.
