Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Automotive Production Manager in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of manufacturing department in processing materials or manufacturing products, applying knowledge of production methods, processes, machines and equipment, and acceptance testing, troubleshoot and repair of products, machines and equipment.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
  • May be required to participate in work of subordinates by performing such tasks as setup, operation and repair
  • Demonstrate work methods such as wire routing, assembly, inspection sequence and test equipment operation
  • Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing and testing of products, utilizing knowledge of production processes and methods, machine and equipment capabilities and staffing requirements
  • Review and compile operations records, such as yield, scrap and maintenance costs and develop related reports
  • Apply expertise to continuously improve products, processes and associates
  • Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure the production and quality of products meet specifications
  • Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data, such as types, quantities and specifications or products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations
  • Analyze manufacturing schedule to plan work assignments for group on basis of priority, worker skills, production methods, processes, material, machines and equipment
  • Evaluate equipment and processes to ensure associate safety
  • Inspect production processes/methods to ensure proper handling of products/equipment
  • Examine product in accordance with manufacturing and quality standards to ensure acceptability
  • Directly supervise various levels of production team members by setting the tone for the team environment and providing individualized coaching, training and mentoring along with evaluating performance/conducting annual performance evaluations
  • Review work orders, product specifications, technical instructions and facility requirements and requisition tools, equipment and supplies
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
  • Must be detail-oriented, have the ability to be a highly motivated and self-directed worker, be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated strong/effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work across functional and organizational lines as well as excellent analytical skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Engineering, Business Administration, Management, Operations or Technical field or a substantially similar supply chain or operations related field
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook)
  • Must possess a minimum of 5 years experience working in a leadership position
  • Demonstrated understanding of general business principles
  • Must possess a minimum of 5 years management experience in an electronics repair, manufacturing or warehouse related organization
  • Must possess excellent organizational and management skills with excellent follow up
Desired Qualifications
  • MBA or Master’s Degree in a related Operational field
