Title: Automotive Pricing Analyst

Today, the automotive landscape is transforming at an unprecedented pace. New business models, competitors, and technologies are constantly emerging. Supply chain shortages and industry-wide inflation are eroding margins and creating uncertainty. And as our customer portfolio grows in size and complexity, pressure on our existing operating models and cost structures is increasing. Our ability to quickly evolve our pricing models and capabilities in order to keep up with these rapidly shifting changes is absolutely fundamental to our future success.

The Bose Automotive Systems Division, or ASD, recently established a new Pricing and Commercial Management function to standardize and systematize processes, best practices, and tools, in and around customer price setting, price defending, and margin management, for both new and existing products. To support the new function, ASD is also adding the role of Pricing Analyst. The primary responsibility of the Pricing Analyst will be to monitor, measure, and drive customer pricing and margin performance throughout the entire product lifecycle, and to help foster a culture of pricing and commercial excellence.

Specific job responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain monthly reports to measure attainment and to assist Sales and Senior Leadership in making critical business decisions Partner with Sales to form price implementation and defense strategies to support customer negotiations and value selling (i.e. “the playbook”). This can include the handling of customer objections, war-gaming, cost driver analysis, incentives and discounts, creating collateral, training, etc.
  • Work with critical stakeholder groups, including Finance, Business Operations, and Sales, to define and maintain pricing and margin performance metrics and KPI’s over the life of the product and portfolio.
  • Work with our Global Business Operations team to ensure our Business Systems are aligned with our Price Management Systems Develop and share insights around volatility and risk in our cost structure, and recommend pricing strategies for mitigating that risk
  • Apply lean thinking and techniques to improve efficiency in our price management system
  • Use the models to set pricing targets for hardware, software, services, and intellectual property
  • Use a combination of industry best practices, statistical analysis, and market intelligence to develop and maintain pricing models based on value-analysis, customer willingness-to-pay, transactional history, competitive intelligence, and smart markups.
  • Collect, consolidate, and analyze market intelligence, research, and benchmarks, and form insights into internal and external pricing and margin trends

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of work experience in and around pricing and/or revenue management, preferably in the automotive or consumer electronics industry, and in a B2B, or B2B2C environment
  • Strong problem-solving, research, analytical, presentation, and communication skills
  • Experience in conducting research, gathering market intelligence, and developing unique insights
  • Experience developing and maintaining statistical models
  • Ability to work effectively across different cultures, functions, and time zones
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI, and experience working with SAP or similar ERP
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Engineering.

Travel:

  • 5% travel (may be more depending upon work location)
  • Work location is flexible; preference is Boston (Framingham), Detroit, or Esslingen, Germany

Reporting:

The Pricing Analyst will report to the Head of Global Pricing and Commercial Management.
