Autocad Designer Jobs

Compensation: $22/hr plus full benefits

Location: In-office position at 8625 Inkster Rd. Taylor, MI 48180 (Hybrid or remote is not offered - onsite team design/collaboration is key for this role!)

Work Hours: 40 hours a week Monday - Friday (8 AM - 5 PM w/ 1 hour lunch). Occasional offsite production visits outside of business hours.

As an AutoCAD Designer (in-house title “3D CAD Designer”), your proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D design will elevate our productions, both internally and for our esteemed clients. From developing immersive wireframe drawings to coordinating with sales and attending production calls, you'll collaborate closely with a passionate team to bring spectacular visions to life. AutoCAD Designer Responsibilities

• Skillfully interpret data from colleague-provided site surveys or client information within AutoCAD to streamline the event design process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., project managers, event coordinators, designers) to ensure seamless communication and execution of event designs.
• Conduct off-site site surveys to gather essential event details required for effective event design and customer quotes. We'll equip you with the necessary tools and knowledge through on-site training and collaboration with your immediate supervisor.
• Develop precise "internal drawings" exclusively for PM1's use, providing essential scope information, gear element quantities, and exact event locations to facilitate smooth and efficient on-site event construction by our dedicated installers and support staff.
• Collaborate with sales to discern client preferences, whether related to design aesthetics or specific equipment requirements. Participate in production calls to establish the event scope and determine the best course of action before initiating CAD drawings.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in 3D design software and technology, bringing innovative ideas to enhance event visuals.
• Create captivating 3D wireframe drawings for live events using PM1's extensive "digital library" of 3D assets, catering to both internal needs and client-facing presentations.
• Ensure accuracy by cross-referencing the inventory management system with the drawings, maintaining consistency between the two.
• Additional responsibilities as required.

AutoCAD Designer Required Qualifications

• On-site presence required at PM1's Taylor, MI location, Monday to Friday. This role involves face-to-face interaction with co-workers and clients.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, maintain a task queue, and prioritize daily tasks effectively.
• Must have experience with 3D design (not 2D only).
• No Bachelor’s Degree is required!
• Willingness to conduct off-site site surveys occasionally, even outside of regular business hours. No prior experience necessary.
• 2+ years using AutoCAD software in 3D design (college work, internship, or personal study time in 3D design all counts!). Other CAD programs like SolidWorks, CATIA, etc. do not qualify.

AutoCAD Designer Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Google Earth and the ability to superimpose CAD drawings over sites to scale is desirable.
• Familiarity with Unity, Unreal Engine, 3D Studio Max, or Maya is a huge plus.
• 1+ years of work employment in CAD design (any industry – 2D work is acceptable too!)
• Experience with inventory management systems, CRM software, or other design tools is preferred.
