The Iowa Insurance Division is now recruiting for a motivated attorney who has demonstrated high quality analytic skills in school and the work environment and is interested in regulatory compliance and possesses an aptitude for the insurance markets and its products.

This attorney works in in our Enforcement Bureau and is responsible for the following:

• Comment on and draft proposed legislation or changes in agency rules, regulations, policies and procedures
• Respond to written and verbal requests for information or guidance from internal and external parties
• Research laws, legal opinions, policies, regulations and draft memoranda regarding legal precedents
• Assist other attorneys by preparing draft statements of charges, motions, briefs and other legal documents
• Analyze and evaluate insurance and securities matters and prepare enforcement plans

Qualified candidates must have graduated from an accredited law school prior to commencing work for the Division and must be admitted to the Iowa Bar within six (6) months of employment.

This is a non-merit position with the Iowa Insurance Division . Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Applicants must have graduated from an accredited school of law to qualify for positions in this job classification.
