Description:

California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is located in San Bernardino in the Inland Empire, 60 miles east of Los Angeles and operates a satellite campus in Palm Desert located in Coachella Valley. CSUSB serves approximately 20,000 students, of which 81% are first-generation college students and graduates about 5,000 students annually. JOB SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Director of Athletics, direct all aspects of an NCAA Division II soccer program including but not limited to: coaching, recruiting, program development, and maintenance of a strong academic environment. Cal State San Bernardino is a NCAA Division II member, competing in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The university seeks an individual who has demonstrated success in attracting campus and community support. The CCAA has been one of the nation's most successful intercollegiate athletic conferences since its establishment in 1938. CCAA members have won 151 NCAA Championships (102 men, 49 women) which is far and away the most of any Division II conference.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of three years of successful soccer coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree is required, master's degree preferred.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with CSUSB. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may result in the withdrawal of the offer of employment.
