Position purpose:
The Associate Videographer/Photographer works alongside the University Marketing & Communications (UMAC) visual team to capture, produce and edit video and photos to tell the best stories, every time, to advance Belmont University’s brand, spread its mission, support its vision and encourage enrollment/investment.
Essential Functions: The position works collaboratively with UMAC colleagues as well as partners across campus for video and photo storytelling and development; live events, including commencement ceremonies and press conferences; recruitment projects; sporting events; social media and website needs; and special initiatives. Assists in the production of video, photography, graphics, narration and closed captioning as well as production scheduling. Reports to the Videographer/Editor and supports and works in close partnership with the University Photographer.

- Contribute to content development, gathering images and video as well as conducting interviews with students, faculty, staff, and alumni, among others, for print pieces, social media posts, TV commercials, digital advertisements, live events, and more.
- Edit and assemble final video content, including selecting scenes, color correction, audio mixing, transitions, visual effects, graphics, narration, voiceover, background music, and brand each video consistently by the University’s brand standards.
- Assist in planning related to all content marketing and storytelling.
- Assist in the maintenance of the photo/video archive for storing, organizing, and tagging all gathered raw and edited visual assets in a consistent way that enables easy identification and access.
- Responsible for video and photo production, including, but not limited to, concept and storyboard development, location scouting, schedule planning, filming, shooting, editing, organizing, and archiving photography, raw video footage, video project files and related assets. Partner with University Photographer and/or Videographer on visual marketing and communications initiatives.
- Assist in the management, maintenance and organization of equipment, including, but not limited to, cameras, lens, lighting, and audio equipment, and keep abreast of new technologies.
- Maintain consecutive ongoing projects, communicating consistently with supervisors and project managers and delivering edits as assigned by assigned deadlines and within budget

- Superior understanding of storytelling - visually and narratively
- Ability to produce high-quality content on deadline in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with concurrent assignments.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in video and photo editing including image manipulation, color correction, and color grading techniques using Adobe Premiere, After Effects, LightRoom, Photoshop and Final Cut Pro X on Apple Mac Computers.
- Familiarity with copyright regulations and privacy laws.
- Experience taking photos and filming with mirrorless DSLR Cameras and a strong knowledge of cinematographic techniques to ensure best possible angles and lighting for filming and recording high-quality audio
- Familiarity with issues in higher education is a plus.
- Position will require some night and weekend availability.
- Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
- Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
