Job Description
Description:

Advanced Veterinary Specialty Group (AVSG) Internal Medicine & Urgent Care and Veterinary Surgical Specialists of Orange County in Tustin, California are seeking Overnight Emergency Doctors to join our amazing and dedicated staff. Our mission is to provide a solution to the challenges faced by our patients, clients, and local general practitioners in a timely and efficient manner. This role would consist of two or three days per week working closely with our internists, urgent care doctors, and surgeons in a growing, dynamic environment.

Culture is important to us and finding the right individuals for our team is a high priority. We are a tight-knit, collegial group of medical professionals who join forces to provide the highest level of both patient and client care possible. Our hospital is a 13,000-square-foot facility and soon to expand to 23,000 square-foot is the largest of the nest of 10 independent specialty practices in our Plaza. We provide emergency services as well as specialty services including Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Dermatology. The other practices in the Plaza include Ophthalmology, Dentistry, Oncology, Neurology, and Imaging. We serve Orange County and most of Southern California. We boast the best climate in the country with endless social and cultural opportunities.

About you

Your essential qualifications are compassion, a passion for practicing good medicine, and a willingness to collaborate, learn, and teach. You thrive on clinical banter, and you know that most of the success in veterinary medicine resides in your ability to effectively communicate with people. You will be leading an amazing team of RVT’s and tech assistants with respect and confidence. We will provide you with a wide array of diagnostic and treatment tools at your disposal. You can think under pressure, examine, and triage promptly, diagnose short- and long-term health issues quickly, consult directly with clients with emotional intelligence, and communicate with referring clinics professionally. You must be in compliance with all regulating agencies for veterinary medicine and have a current California license.

Compensation

We offer competitive compensation and if full-time requirements are met, we have very competitive employee benefits: $400.00 employer-paid portion of health insurance, 100% employer-paid vision, 100% employer-paid dental, 401K 3% employer contribution, bonuses, and continuing education allowance. If this sounds appealing, it’s worth your time to call or visit and truly get a sense of why it's great to be a part of this organization.

  • $50,000 signing bonus
  • $200,000-$300,000 salary range
Requirements:
  • Be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 Lbs. and balance, at times, animals in excess of 50 Lbs.
  • You must be in compliance with all regulating agencies for Veterinary Medicine and have a current California license
  • Be able to stoop, bend, twist, reach, and safely restrain different species of animals.
  • 2 years of Veterinary Emergency Hospital Experience
  • Safely lift, move, adjust, transfer, or position patients and equipment using proper body mechanics. Stand for sufficient periods of time to actively engage in clinical activities (maybe up to 10 hours a day)
