What we want
The College of Pharmacy is looking for a Assistant Research Scientist to serve as a member of the Pharmaceutical Sciences team. We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. The successful applicant will bring an expert level of experience to the position and understand the demands of supporting executives in a fast-paced environment. This person must be professional, enjoy working in a high-volume environment and be able to apply strong organizational skills while being flexible in their daily routine. Required Education:
  • Appropriate PhD
Required Experience:
  • Three years' relevant professional experience
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Experience:
  • Demonstrated ability through publications in journals of international repute.
  • Experience in testing novel dosage forms in in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo
  • Experience working with diverse individuals and communities.
  • Techniques including flow cytometry, Western blot, real-time PCR are essential.
  • Previous training in molecular biology, biochemistry, mammalian cell culture and rat/mouse in vivo protocols is desirable.
  • This position requires research training and experience in molecular biology, cancer etiology and cancer prevention studies.
Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Good computer literacy including data-bases, standard software platforms, spread sheets and statistical analysis.
Job Responsibilities
Research
  • Conduct research on pharmacokinetics, in vitro-in vivo correlations, animal models of pathology, cell cultures.
  • Preparation of laboratory for experiments including preparation of solutions and cleaning work areas; this may require light to moderate lifting.
  • Present research findings to colleagues and at conferences.
  • Write progress reports and prepare results for publication and dissemination via presentations and the World Wide Web.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all findings.
  • Conduct literature searches and reviews and continue to update knowledge and develop skills.
  • Generate and display the results and interpret their implications.
Correlated Duties.
  • Communicate with PI, liaise with collaborators within as well as outside TAMU to ensure alignment of expectations within project objectives as well lead, influence, and enlist support to other lab members.
  • Ordering of supplies
  • Actively participate as a member of a research team and attend and contribute to relevant meetings.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
