Ecolab is seeking an Associate Regulatory Specialist to support the Global Trade Compliance team.


Location: This position can be based out of either our St. Paul, MN or Naperville, IL office, with some ability to work in a hybrid (in-office + remote) structure.

What You Will Do


  • Support BIS classification requests and data collection for requests and/or advisory opinions
  • Harmonize tariff codes, Drug Enforcement Agency and Chemical Weapons Convention Classifications - chemical and equipment classification
  • Provide KPI’s and monthly metrics regarding number of requests and turnaround time
  • Coordinate, prepare, submit, and secure all necessary paperwork for regulatory permits, licenses, and registrations (DEA, BIS, etc)
  • Write and maintain procedures and system controls to comply with import and export regulations
  • Assist with equipment and digital project work and assist in preparing training pertaining to the Global Trade Compliance Program
  • Provide data for Customs inquiries and responding to information requested via e.g. CF-28s
  • Support new product introduction requests
  • Provide reporting information to government agencies (chemical weapons reporting) and 3rd party providers (freight forwarders and brokers)
  • Run compliance reports from ERP system; update ERP systems to ensure master data is current
  • Support R&D requests for shipping samples outside of the standard ERP system, to ensure compliance with export regulations
  • Support Free Trade Agreements program - perform qualifications for Free Trade and provide suggestions for cost savings opportunities


Minimum Qualifications


  • No Relocation Assistance provided
  • No Immigration Sponsorship available for this opportunity
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or in a related technical field


Preferred Qualifications


  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Experience with excel, VBA code, and SAP
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • 1 or more years of previous experience within Global Trade and/or Regulatory Affairs field
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
