GSK is currently looking for an Associate QC Chemist in Rockville, MD. The Associate QC Chemist performs quality control testing, and data review for biopharmaceutical medicine products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate laboratory SOPs and recommend improvement opportunities to maintain compliance with corporate and regulatory guidelines. Develops or revises laboratory SOPs as required.
• Assist in investigation and assay trouble shooting.
• Develop advanced knowledge in cGMP, CFR and other regulations in order to assure laboratory compliance.
• Analytical methods include HPLC, Capillary Electrophoresis, SoloVPE and others.
• Operate and maintain QC laboratory equipment/instrument in a cGMP-compliant manner.
• Trained as a Self-Inspector Auditor and participate in >25% of department’s Self Inspections.
• Assist in critical reagent qualification/re-qualification, in compendia methods and other analytical method qualification/validation/transfer.
• Conduct routine non-compendial, biochemistry, analytical testing for in-process, release, and stability drug product samples per SOP.
• Meet lab safety requirements.

• Master’s degree in Biochemistry or related field
• 1+ years industrial experience in biopharmaceutical industry, such as Microbiology, Biology, or related field experience
