Get your hard hat ready. We’re not just renovating the travel experience – we’re renovating our physical spaces too. And our Corporate Real Estate team is on the front lines of procuring, designing and developing spaces at all our hubs, stations and city locations across the world. From airport affairs and business services to planning and development, this team is responsible for all our leases and major construction and renovation projects, system wide.
Key Responsibilities
Support Planning and Development Director, construction project management team, and Business Services team in the management of construction project portfolios, business processes, and project resources. Includes the development and management of capital and facilities plans, portfolio demand management, tracking and oversight of programs for both design/innovation and construction execution teams. Also includes high level reporting on behalf of departmental leaders.
Demand Management And Resource Planning Assistance
  • Assist and maintain resource forecasts for your portfolios and provide guidance on demand versus availability of resources
  • Collect data to continually improve forecast and assist with project labor cost estimates
  • Collect, prioritize, and review intake ideas with director
  • Assist on all ideas/projects within portfolio through to cancellation or project assignment
  • Collect additional information needed from requestor and facilitate assignment of rough order magnitude cost and schedule
Planning, Strategy, And Design Support
  • Assist in maintaining programs that address facility needs for 2, 5, 10 year and long range capital plans
  • Sustain a process for smooth transition from pre-envision phase projects from the design team to the execution team
  • Track the implementation of work plans for the region using inputs from master planning efforts, network planning, the immediate needs of the operation, and facility conditions that integrates into the capital plan
  • Completes various business and contract management processes
Management and Reporting
  • Build and implement department, division, and regional level communication plans to support and updating presentations and standard communications, as well as ad hoc communication as needed
  • Will be required to respond to evolving and sometimes urgent needs that could be anything from assisting in developing presentations, models/analysis to facilitating a high level meeting
  • Engage with various stakeholders to capture and implement evolving needs and work with the enterprise PMO representatives to identify cross divisional communication and reporting efficiencies

  • Capital planning, resource management, facility asset management, program development, file/data/presentation management
Leadership
  • Will be held accountable for providing constant and transparent communication to their Project Team, Leadership, Stakeholders and Customers
  • Responsible in developing individual career development and training plans with leader
  • Is solution oriented and committed to a creating and sustaining a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Establishes individual goals that align with departmental goals
  • Use technical knowledge experience to provide thoughtful decision making and guidance in strategic implementation of United’s approved projects

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Presentation Skills, ability to collect and analyze various types of data, highly organized, self starter, excellent communication, strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, ability to be agile and multi-task
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Ability to anticipate needs and solve problems with sometimes little direction
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Facilitating intake/demand management, organizing and coordinating the work of project teams and collecting and rolling up relevant data and KPI's to leadership and collaborators
  • Understanding of project lifecycle, capital planning, facility asset lifecycle, and related inputs
  • 2 to 4+ years of related work experience
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
