Job Description
About The Team

Over the last two years, DoorDash has been hard at work building our convenience, grocery and alcohol delivery from ~100 stores at launch to 5,000+ grocery stores, 25,000+ convenience stores, and 15,000+ liquor stores across hundreds of merchants today. However, we’re just getting going! The next year will be defined by our relentless focus on achieving perfect order quality and expanding our offering to new merchants and products. Our team of ~30 sits within the broader New Business Verticals Strategy & Operations team and is responsible for the end-to-end delivery experience, including volume, speed, and quality.

About The Role

Since 2020, DoorDash has added more than 40,000 stores to our platform across convenience, grocery, and alcohol (among others). This includes more than 15,000 liquor stores in most US states, and we’re expanding quickly! Alcohol delivery is defined by its operational complexity (e.g., ID verification, driver certification, payment restrictions), which often varies on a state-by-state basis. While no delivery player has quite cracked the market, we believe we have the right combination of speed, quality, and value prop to win in this space. We’re looking for a rockstar operator who is excited to get down into the weeds, roll up their sleeves, cut data, and ultimately solve problems to improve the operation and grow the business!

You’re Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will…

  • Collaborate – Partner with many teams like: Operations, Product, Engineering, Legal, Policy, Comms, etc. to create strategic plans and harness opportunities while gaining buy-in from stakeholders and leadership
  • Analyze – Build models using tools like SQL and Excel to evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of various programs and experiments
  • Operate – Own tracking dashboards and manage week over week metrics to drive safe, high-quality delivery operation
  • Engage – Implement scalable initiatives and best practices to provide a world-class operation
  • Strategize – Work on unique strategies across our three-sided marketplace

We’re Excited About You Because…

  • You are a self-starter – You have a bias for action and are able to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environmentYou are a problem solver – You have a talent for synthesizing complex problems, can translate high-level goals into actionable plans, and enjoy implementing a process
  • You like data – You let data win arguments, and you're comfortable pulling and modeling large datasets. You are excited to use (or learn) SQL in your role.
  • You have 1+ years of experience in consulting, operations, tech, strategy, business development, banking, analytics or related experience; high-growth or early-stage startup experience is a bonus
  • You are an owner – You're always looking for opportunities to better your work product and own the outcome – both the good and the bad
  • You are curious – You always look for creative ways to move the needle
