Associate Ii, Quality Control, Microbiology

The Role
In this role, you will support in-process and release testing for raw material, drug substance and mRNA drug products produced at Moderna’s manufacturing facility and affiliated contract organizations.
This position will be on 1st shift working Wednesday to Saturday.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Support testing for raw materials, drug substance and drug product, including generation of testing data to support clinical studies.
Assist in writing/revising SOPs, protocols, reports, and training materials.
Assist in troubleshooting issues related to equipment, laboratory procedures and assay performance.
Assist in training.
Perform general laboratory support activities including reagent preparation, equipment maintenance, housekeeping, etc.
Establish and maintain a safe laboratory working environment.
Work with the quality control management team to continuously improve the quality, compliance, and efficiency of QC operations.
Additional duties may be assigned.
Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
BA or BS degree in Microbiology or relevant scientific discipline, 2 plus years Quality Control experience in a cGMP facility with focus in Microbiology testing
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience with Bioburden, Endotoxin, Media Growth Promotion, TOC and Sterility testing
Ability to prepare reagents, pipette small volumes, work in a Biological Safety Cabinet
Experience with lab equipment/instruments such as Isolators, pH meters, BacT, MCS, Pyros, Vitek MS, and M9 TOC Analyzers
Demonstrated ability to work effectively under established guidelines and instructions.
Knowledge of GMP, microbiology, aseptic technique and general laboratory instrumentation
Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (MODA, Lab Vantage, etc.)
Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment.
Strong written and oral communication skills as well as organizational skills
Experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Prior aseptic gowning and environmental monitoring experience in a GMP environment
Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Smart Sheet
Excellent troubleshooting and ability to communicate issues in a scientifically sound and understandable way.
