Job Description
Position Summary


The Associate is a part of the Credit Research team within the Fixed Income Group. The Associate will work with experienced credit analysts to monitor positions and generate investment recommendations for our bank loan portfolios. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in investing, an understanding of financial statements, and the ability to build financial models. The Associate will gain experience in fundamental credit modeling, business valuation, and relative value analysis in a fast-paced trading floor environment.


This is a two-year program with multiple sector responsibilities across the Credit Research team.


Essential Duties


  • Communicate with third-party analysts and management of companies within the portfolios;
  • Monitor and synthesize news flow, company announcements, regulatory filings, sell-side research, rating reports, etc. related to portfolio investments, particularly those in the leveraged loan market;
  • Support the team in creating quarterly reports, credit summaries, and other written research.
  • Liaise with the trading team to share updates and investment thesis for new issues;
  • Create and maintain financial models and databases, which are used to monitor and analyze existing and prospective investments;


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college with strong academic performance and relevant coursework
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent Finance, Math, and Excel skills
  • –3 years of buy-side or sell-side research, investment banking, accounting, consulting, or other relevant experience

Estimated Compensation


Base Salary: For CA based position, the base salary is $125k. This is an anticipated range only.


Other Compensation: Eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus
