Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly creative and motivated Associate Designer to join our design team. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing their UX and visual design skills and a passion for creating visually appealing and user-friendly digital products.

As the Associate Designer in the Product Development department at PBS, you will play a pivotal role in researching and designing for our digital products. You will work with a team of talented UX designers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and content creators, to ensure the delivery of high-quality user experiences that align with PBS's mission and brand.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Participate in agile scrum ceremonies to keep a pulse on any product and engineering needs from design, including tweaks to designs based on feasibility.
• Provide production level tasks for work such as product redesigns, feature improvements, and show launches.
• Help grow and maintain our design systems.
• Work with product and engineering teams to adjust designs where necessary based on feasibility.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for various products
• Ensure designs are consistent with brand guidelines and user-centered design principles
• Take an initial design brief and iterate on multiple rounds of product designs across various platforms, including Apple and Android mobile devices and smart TV devices
• Collaborate with the design team to conceptualize and execute design solutions for products

Requirements for success:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in graphic design, interaction design, or related field
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
