Job Description
Serves in a Supervisor Athletic Trainer role with regards to Assistant Athletic Trainers. This position is outreach focused, with some travel required. Must be able to work a variable schedule which could involve some nights and weekends. You will be based at a local school or similar organization who likely has a contract with the University for Trainer services. The ability exceed the contracting organization’s needs while working largely independently is critical.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Proficiency in emergency management of athletic injuries
2. Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, coaches, athletes, parents, and peers

SPECIAL REQUIRED ABILITY FOR INCUMBENTS WHO HAVE CONTACT OR EXPOSURE TO ANIMALS OR ANIMAL TISSUES:
Ability to complete and pass successfully the required occupational health screening referenced in the University’s Animal Handler Health Surveillance Program on an annual basis.

REQUIRED BACKGROUND CHECK, PHYSICAL, AND DRUG SCREENING FOR INCUMBENTS WHO HAVE CONTACT OR EXPOSURE TO ANIMALS OR ANIMAL TISSUES:
Selected candidates must complete and pass a background check and an occupational health screening as a condition of employment. For identified jobs, a drug screening will also be required. The background investigation, required occupational health screening, and any required drug screening will be conducted after a conditional employment offer has been extended.
Required Education and/or Experience
1. NATABOC Certification.
2. Louisiana-LSBME Licensure at date of hire, and maintained thereafter.
3. Bachelor’s Degree.
4. At least 3 years of prior experience required, preferably in a similar setting.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master’s Degree
2. Prior experience as an Athletic Trainer
