The Associate Agile Specialist will work closely with the Sr. Manager of Agile Practices and other Enterprise Technology teams on the adoption of Disney aligned Agile best practices in Scrum and Kanban. Inclusive of other agile principles to ensure the successful and reliable delivery of our portfolio commitments, on time, on budget and on function.
An Associate Agile Specialist at Disney applies their practical, hands-on expertise in Scrum and Kanban to enable delivery teams to achieve their business outcomes through the utilization or adoption of Agile business best practices and capabilities.
This role will work with a Sr. Agile Specialist to support experienced Agile teams (starting with a single team, not to exceed three teams), leveraging Disney defined Agile best practices to ensure delivery of their team’s commitments through their Agile journey. In the course of their job they will continue to learn to apply practical knowledge in Agile to achieve business outcomes. The ideal candidate will leverage the Agile Specialist team to engage support to emphasize soft skills, negotiation and persuasion, and a consultative mindset that will monitor the agile implementation, and bring the appropriate combination of solutions, program management, and deliverable management to the stakeholders.
Job Duties/Area of Focus
- Development and Implementation of Agile best practices
- Work with Agile coach/Sr Manager, Agile Practices to develop and deliver agile training plan from Disney training library
- Provide organizational reporting, aligned to Disney best practices
- Work with the Agile Coach/Sr Manager, Agile Practices to work with more experienced agile team(s) to drive the continuous improvement process of Disney defined agile best practices for one to three teams
- Work with Agile Coach/Sr Manager, Agile Practices to ensure partnership with Quality Engineering team delivers testing standards through integrated agile practices for the delivery teams
- Consult with agile coach/Sr Manager, Agile Practices to implement right-fit agile approach for one to three teams
- Articulate team risk areas and key accomplishments on an ongoing basis (at least quarterly)
Basic Qualifications
- Passionate about process improvement
- Familiar with the Software Development Lifecycle
- Understanding of Agile software development
- Familiar with IT or business management processes
- Critical think and solutions oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience the PMBOK framework
- Expertise in other agile disciplines is encouraged
The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA is $89,298 - $119,790 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
