Assistant/Associate/Professor of Orthodontics – Full-Time

Dent Med-Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (22009866)


The University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine (UPSDM) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure stream faculty position at the Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor level in the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. The candidate should have a DDS/DMD or foreign equivalent; have a Certificate in Orthodontics from a CODA-accredited program by the time of hire; be certified by the American Board of Orthodontics or board eligible, and possess or be able to obtain an appropriate license for clinical practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Preference will be given to candidates with a master’s degree or Ph.D., a track record of research and/or scholarly accomplishments, demonstrated skills in orthodontic digital workflow, and prior orthodontic teaching experience in an ADA accredited institution. The salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, experience, and credentials. Application reviews will continue until the position is filled.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to didactic and clinical instruction of residents and dental students, curriculum development, implementation of program policies, research supervision, scholarly activities, and service. Leadership opportunities to serve as a predoctoral director or graduate program director may be available for qualified candidates. Participation in University Dental Health Services (UDHS) faculty practice is expected.

UPSDM is a research-intensive School that was ranked 10th among US institutions receiving funding from the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research. The UPSDM is located on the University's main campus in Pittsburgh, contiguous with the other five health science schools.
