The Assistant Superintendent, in conjunction with the Superintendent, is responsible for assisting with all construction activities. This includes ensuring their assigned contractors meet specifications, deliver the project within budgeted cost, and by the scheduled completion date. This position is required to coordinate, plan, and supervise craft superintendents, contractors and/or craft activities on projects.
Responsibilities
- Utilize BIM360 to record, monitor, and close issues
- Ensure adherence to the EHSEP, as it applies to contractors, in all phases and areas of the project
- Participate in project meetings
- Conduct Quality Inspections
- Ensure that craft superintendents are trained, knowledgeable and performing at the required quality level
- Supervise craft superintendents to meet construction schedules
- Participate in weekly schedule update meetings and contribute to the overall schedule update
- Knowledgeable of all design documents
- Analyze construction equipment requirements and provide recommendations to the team
- Support and ensure the project specifications and schedules are met
- Attend daily meetings with subcontractors as needed
- Keep project team informed about any potential delays
- Ensure that adequate craft manpower is provided as required to meet construction schedules
- Maintain daily logs in BIM360
- Degree in Construction or equivalent years’ experience
- 1-3 years of experience managing construction activities for mid to large-sized projects
- Reading Professional Publications
- Maintaining Personal Networks
- Participating in Professional Organizations
- Computer skills with Microsoft Office suite experience
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Capability of learning new computer programs for project management and reporting
