Summary


The Assistant Manager is a position responsible for supporting the Store Manager in achieving all Company goals and initiatives through driving sales, developing talent, and delivering execution. It is critical that an Assistant Store Manager represents the brand, operates in a professional manner, demonstrates exceptional customer service, and drives a consistent message to all team members.


WAGE


$17.50 per hour

Qualifications


  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, & PowerPoint, and ability to adapt to additional software programs
  • Has broad knowledge and perspective of retail landscape
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to make change using American Monetary units
  • At least 2 years of manager experience in a specialty retail store with relevant traffic and volume preferred
  • Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex financial reports
  • This position requires the ability to problem solve complex situations in an effective and efficient manner including dealing with difficult and/or troubled clients
  • Must be available to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
  • Ability to utilize retail POS System & Inventory Scanner
  • Ability to carry out detailed tasks and projects with minimal direction or supervision.
  • High School Diploma required or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships
  • Must commit to two store closings per week, including one being Friday or Saturday
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and succinctly via email, memos, and reports


WORK ENVIRONMENT


  • Able to regularly perform store maintenance items sweep, vacuum, empty trash, clean
  • The ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time
  • The ability to use caution when dealing with difficult customers, houseless and/or transients and avoid confrontations
  • Able to reach overhead, bend, kneel, and carry product, necessary for customer service, inventory re-stock, processing shipment and store merchandising
  • Requires ability to perform repetitive motions (i.e. hanging, folding, ringing up customers, etc.)
  • Adult content environment
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
  • Requires ability to lift large and heavy packages and boxes rapidly and constantly and to perform a continuous process of loading and unloading large boxes throughout a scheduled shift
  • Ability to use and climb ladders and/or step stools
  • Must have ability to safely lift 50 lbs. without restrictions

Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Has full understanding/knowledge of inventory management procedures
  • Assists with store security including checking bags and monitoring fitting rooms
  • Manages rest and meal break schedules and ensures that all zones are covered
  • Escalates performance concerns to the Store Manager
  • Represents the company in a professional and positive manner
  • Inspires and motivates entire team by sharing knowledge and best practices for sales, merchandising, stocking and inventory processes
  • Assists in directing the planning and execution of floor sets in an efficient manner while following Company guidelines and encouraging collaboration of ideas amongst team members
  • Ensures that store staff are treated professionally, courteously and respectfully
  • Fosters a positive work environment and provides direct, honest feedback in a timely manner
  • Serves as the Manager on Duty, performing responsibilities of the Store Manager when the Store Manager is away from the store
  • Works alongside employees at all levels, driving and maintaining high standards by serving as a positive role model to ensure the integrity of the brand
  • Motivates and inspires the associates to build brand loyalty and create a positive store environment for both internal and external customers
  • Assists and coaches in training Sales Associates while on the sales floor and monitors compliance for all company standard operating procedures and cultivates an environment of open communication and teamwork
  • Exhibits the interest and the ability to become a Store Manager
  • Adheres to and ensures compliance with all LP policies
  • Guarantees company assets by ensuring adherence to all Loss Prevention procedures
  • Assists the Store Manager with managing company standards of merchandise presentations, signage and displays
