Are you passionate about construction and project management? Do you have a flair for managing budgets, ensuring quality control, and mitigating risks? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and detail-oriented Permanent Assistant Project Manager to join our team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in educational and recreational facilities construction, demonstrating a unique blend of technical knowledge, project management skills, and a keen understanding of the construction industry. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a diverse team of professionals who are committed to building innovative, high-quality facilities that enhance and enrich communities.


Responsibilities


As an Assistant Project Manager, your key responsibilities will include


  • Developing and managing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring projects are completed within budget.
  • Conducting risk assessments, identifying potential risks, and implementing risk management strategies to mitigate potential issues.
  • Coordinating and overseeing the construction process, ensuring adherence to quality standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Ensuring all projects comply with environmental and safety standards.
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Assisting the Project Manager in all phases of project management, from initial planning to completion.
  • Participating in the procurement process, including vendor selection and contract negotiation.
  • Managing communication between project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, and resolving any issues that may arise.


Qualifications


To qualify for this role, you must have


  • Proficiency in construction management software and project management tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Excellent budgeting skills, with the ability to develop and manage project budgets effectively.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in project management within the construction industry, with specific experience in educational and recreational facilities construction.
  • Proven experience in risk management, with the ability to identify potential risks and implement effective strategies to mitigate them.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues promptly and effectively.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Project.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations.
