Our undergraduate supply chain program was established in 2014 and has recently achieved >90% placement rate within 90 days of graduation, a 100% offer rate. The program has grown in both the number of students and as a percentage of total College of Business majors each semester. The program consistently places in the top 5 in student case competitions. In line with our mission as a land grant university, our Supply Chain Forum has strong community engagement to, and support from, local Colorado businesses.

The Department of Management is one of five departments in the College of Business. The department has a strong record of teaching and research accomplishments as well as a collegial work environment. There are five primary discipline areas in the department including supply chain management, entrepreneurship, human resource management, organizational behavior, and strategy. The Department currently has 17 world renowned tenure track and 10 contract and continuing faculty who serve approximately 3,200 undergraduate business majors, over 1,100 undergraduate business minors, and 900 graduate students. The College’s MBA is offered in residence and via Colorado State University’s accredited learning programs.

Position Summary
The College of Business at Colorado State University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Supply Chain Management. This position reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Management at the College of Business. The start date for a Fall 2024 appointment is August 15, 2024. Salary and benefits are competitive.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in supply chain management (e.g., purchasing, operations management, logistics, global SCM) and related courses; conducting research leading to scholarly publication in leading academic journals; providing service to the College, University, profession and community; the ability to advance the Department’s commitment to sustainability and DEI efforts through research, teaching and outreach with relevant programs, goals, and activities.

Required Job Qualifications
  • The ability to effectively teach courses in supply chain management, provide service, and conduct research with colleagues per the responsibilities of the rank.
  • An established record of supply chain management research targeted to, or published in, peer reviewed academic journals.
  • A Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management or related field from an AACSB-accredited Business School. ABD candidates will be considered only if there is sufficient evidence that the doctorate degree will be completed before August 14, 2024.

Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Targeted or published empirical supply chain management research in top-tier, peer reviewed, academic journals or a demonstrated potential to do so.
  • The ability to translate their research into practical discussion points for industry.
  • The potential to work effectively in a department that places significant emphasis on interdisciplinary interaction, collegiality, and integration.
  • The ability to complement and build upon our strengths in supply chain management research as well as bring new dimensions to our research profile. Areas can include research that emphasizes sustainability within the supply chain, global/international supply chain management, supply chain resiliency, and supply networks.
  • Demonstrated or strong potential to work with existing faculty to continue elevating our supply chain management program to national prominence.
  • The ability to teach general supply chain and potentially procurement/purchasing or other advanced classes as needed.
