Job Description
Under direct supervision, provides an environmentally clean surgical area in accordance to KP standards and regulatory requirements; assists with the transportation and positioning of patients within specific Operating Room guidelines. Responsible for the storage and movement of supplies and equipment within the surgery department.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Transports supplies and specimens to the operating rooms, sterile processing department, laboratory, Pathology, and x-ray departments as required.
  • Maintains effective relationships with co-workers, staff, and physicians while adhering to the Perioperative Services Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintains appropriate stock levels in assigned areas.
  • Assists in transporting and/or positioning of patients.
  • Responsible for between case cleaning, terminal cleaning and assisting with room turnovers.
  • Maintains a clean and safe physical environment for patients and staff.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.
  • Executes proper use, care and handling of equipment and supplies.




Within 12 months of experience as an ORA in an ASC/Hospital setting and able to assist with setting up of anesthesia machine.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience
  • General understanding of medical and aseptic techniques required.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration
  • Effective interpersonal skills required to communicate with the nursing staff.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of hospital, operating room orderly assistant or attendant experience preferred.
  • N/A Education
  • In order to work effectively with patients, must have effective interpersonal and communication skills and be able to stand, walk, bend, lift at least 50 pounds, hear, speak, and see. Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current BLS certification (AHA) required. Additional Requirements:
