Job Description
South Mountain Creamery is a dairy farm family; we bottle our own milk and make our own butter and ice cream. We brought the milkman back in 2001 and have been making home deliveries to the DMV area for 22 years and counting! We are currently hiring for an Assistant Manager for our location in Downton, Frederick. Our legendairy Retail and Food Service team ensures every new and existing customer has the ultimate SMC experience.


The position reports to the General Manager and is directly responsible for Pizza and Ice Cream operations at the store. You will manage our team and help plan new sundaes and ice cream treats along with working with our pizza side of the business.


Duties Include But Are Not Limited To


  • Controlling operational costs and identifying measures to control waste
  • Managing the safety and sanitation of our operations ensuring consistency and standards
  • Stepping in to help out, no matter the job!
  • Connecting with the community & helping to create a fun open environment that people enjoy
  • Being an expert on our operations and brand
  • Focusing on achieving results without compromising guest service, a great product, or the image of the restaurant
  • Ensuring excellent products, all the time – we are proud of what we do!
  • Leading by example working to train and coach our team

This position requires weekend shifts.


  • Shift may require some flexibility in end/start times.
