Assistant Intake Coordinator Opportunity

Fuller Hospital is seeking an Assistant Intake Coordinator to join our team!

An Assistant Intake Coordinator facilitates internal calls, faxes, efax to Fuller Hospital regarding referrals/admissions from referral sources including insurance verification, eligibility and authorization and ensures timely processing of assessments and completes related paperwork. The intake coordinator is a liaison between the community, individuals, referral sources and the hospital. Coordinator is responsible for data entry of patients into Fuller system as well as ability to pull and analyze data. The coordinators will be responsible for building positive relationships with referral sources, external call outs to providers/ED/referrals sources multiple times a day all under the supervision of the Intake Supervisors.

Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
  • Essential Physical/Mental Demands: Ability to prioritize workload despite rapidly changing pace and multiple stressors.
  • Environmental Demands: Labile to fast pace, frequently walks throughout the hospital; attends meetings as required; may work in noisy and congested areas; may be exposed to violent patients and bodily fluids.
  • Experience: Two years related experience in staffing, scheduling, administrative work.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to communicate effectively through spoken word and in writing, working knowledge of Microsoft office and excel
  • Other: The intake coordinator must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to facilitate admissions. The staff must possess knowledge of the effective communication, urgency in dealing with admissions, service excellence in building relationships with referral sources, seeking assistance with clinical questions as needed from the Director of Clinical Services, House Officer as well as DON.
  • Age and Disability: Must possess knowledge and skills necessary to interact compassionately and appropriately with families of the mentally ill.
  • Education: Bachelors degree in psychology or related field
  • Manual Dexterity Required: Ability to write legibly
  • Contacts: Reports to the Intake Supervisor. Interacts with patients, patients' families, outside vendors, insurance companies and all internal departments.
