Job Description

CLA is seeking a practical-minded attorney to work in its Minneapolis, Orlando, Charlotte, DC, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Denver, Seattle, or Dallas office.
CLA’s in-house attorneys support CLA’s network of 130 offices in 30 states. The attorney in this new position will:
  • Assist CLA’s legal team in advising its leaders on CLA’s initiatives and continuing growth across the country.
  • Draft and negotiate a variety of agreements (e.g., master service agreements, statement of works, vendor, non-disclosure, etc.).
  • Become a trusted advisor to CLA’s accounting and wealth-management professionals and management as they manage client relationships, employment matters, and other legal issues;
  • Provide legal support to CLA in dealing with subpoenas and regulatory requests, including, representing CLA at related hearings, depositions, etc.; and
As CLA continues to grow, this role may evolve.
The successful candidate will have:
  • At least two to five years of broad-based legal experience;
  • Preferred prior in-house experience;
  • A proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment; and
  • A desire to work independently, using sound legal reasoning and practical judgment to solve a wide variety of legal problems;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • An exemplary academic record and a current license to practice law, preferably in Minnesota, Florida, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Indiana, Colorado, Washington, or Texas (Ask about a catchall).
For New York City the posting range is: $198,000 - $295,000
Compensation Strategy:
Our approach to compensation emphasizes collaboration and career growth. We pay competitive wages and view compensation as an investment in our people. Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range. These same factors may cause starting pay to be below or above the posted range.
For Colorado, the posted range for this role is $172,000 - $250,000
For Washington, the posting range for this role is $178,000 - $268,000
