The Department of Transportation & Capital Infrastructure is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director for our team. The successful candidate will provide leadership and oversight to the Real Estate Planning and Acquisition Division and be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing operations related to real estate planning and acquisition for Loudoun County. This position serves as a member of the department’s Senior Leadership Team and provides assistance and input to the Director. The Assistant Director, Real Estate Planning and Acquisition will manage the County’s long range acquisition strategy as well as land acquisition activities associated with capital projects.
- Lead Division staff in the management of capital project land acquisition and other real estate assets.
- Develop and oversee the County’s long range land acquisition strategy.
- Make presentations to the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors and other public forums.
- Support Department and County goals and strategies associated with real estate planning, acquisition, and management.
- Manage complex land acquisition and management projects.
- Utilize a comprehensive strategic management approach to address the County’s increasing capital real estate asset portfolio.
- Assists the Director with financial and budgetary matters.
- Expertise in real estate acquisition, condemnation, and disposition.
- Experience in local government preferred.
- Knowledge of GIS software and other Land Acquisition tools preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proven track record of success in leading and managing professional real estate acquisition and management teams.
Salary to commensurate with experience
Anticipated hiring range of $99,785.80 to $144,689.41
Job Requirements
Masters degree in Business, Public Administration or department-related area. Five (5) years of directly related, progressively responsible work experience including three (3) years in a supervisory or management role preferably in a government setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
The successful candidate must be available to support evening Board of Supervisors and Board Committee meetings, as well as conduct or support project-related public information meetings and public hearings.
Candidates must hold a valid driver's license.
