Job Description
The Assistant Director of Clinical Services is responsible for the co-management, organization, and oversight of some administrative, clinical, and service functions of the clinical staff. Additional responsibilities include fostering relationships with community resources, assisting the Director of Clinical Services with tasks, and evaluating the performance of clinical staff. 


Essential Responsibilities And Metrics  


  • Timeliness and thoroughness in the completion of all care delivery related paperwork  
  • Being a part of the interviewing process for new clinical staff (20%)
  • Knowledge and operationalization of confidentiality, client rights, safety, infection control, incident and sentinel event reporting, and personnel policies  
  • Maintain a Clinical Productivity (15%) and completing all required clinical documentation (10%)
  • Work effectively with community resources and participate usefully in community related activities  
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of supervisors and clinical staff, assuring staff compliance with clinical, administrative, organizational responsibilities including productivity. Provide and document regular scheduled clinical supervision. This will include supervising the Team Leads for: Living Room and Drop-In Center & Community Support. Max of 8 Supervisees. (25%)
  • Co-Chair regular clinical staff meetings if needed
  • Work effectively with Clinical Director (15%) 
  • Participate cooperatively in performance improvement activities, committee work, when requested, mandatory in-services, and strategic planning  
  • Represent the Center with integrity, abide by the ethical statement of the Center and protect confidentiality  
  • Overseeing the orientation process and working in collaboration with clinical coordinators involved in orientation as well as the Director of Internships (10%)
  • Monitor and approve clinical staff work and vacation schedules such that the needs of the Center are covered


Qualifications    


  • Advanced oral and written communication skills  
  • Ability to think critically and analytically and to problem solve in both short- and long-term contexts  
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive and successful clinical management experience preferable with a non-profit organization  
  • Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills  
  • Licensed for independent clinical practice in the State of Illinois in mental health or related field  
  • Competence in interdisciplinary and inter-agency collaboration  
  • An understanding of current thinking in the field of mental health, regarding clinical trends and best practice
