Department Summary
The University of Oregon Intercollegiate Athletic Department's primary purpose is to provide a unique opportunity for student-athletes to be developed, tested, and encouraged to reach their maximum potential in every aspect of their lives. The department has approximately 250 administrative & classified employees and hosts over 600,000 spectators annually and represents the University of Oregon in athletic competition with other universities & colleges.
Position Summary
The Assistant Beach Volleyball Coach is responsible for providing coaching and administrative assistance to the Head Beach Volleyball Coach. This position is also responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university, the PAC-12 Conference, and the NCAA.
Minimum Requirements
- One year of successful collegiate/professional playing or coaching experience.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Professional Competencies
- Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and interpretations.
- The successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated dedication to the full academic and social development of student-athletes.
- Full understanding of providing a quality student-athlete experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven successful implementation of offensive and/or defensive strategies.
- Affiliation with highly successful elite program(s).
- Proven significant skill development of student-athletes both individually and collectively.
- Preference will be given to candidates who effectively communicate a plan of action for program improvement.
- Successful experience coaching beach volleyball at the collegiate level.
