REPORTS TO: Board of Trustees (BOT)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement recruitment plan for other Directors for all shows (Music Director, Movement Director, Producer, Youth Show Camp, Summer Stages, VOCALities), working with marketing team and BOT to implement recruitment plan
• Develop each show budget and present to the BOT for review and approval
• Coordinate with BOT Membership Lead to appoint individuals to serve as Membership Ambassadors for each Spring and Holiday performance
• Serves as lead for cast member auditions
• Demonstrate being a role model in conducting self, interacting with others and making decisions within the parameters of the Vaud-Villities core values of inclusion, passionate, professional, respectful, and with integrity
• Identifies and presents to the Board the artistic vision and theme for the show season including the Spring Show, Holiday Show, Summer Stages, collaborating with key stakeholders and Directors of each respective production
• Support and consult Directors of Youth Show Camp, VV Academy, and VOCALities to align with VV show season timelines of performances and cast cohesion, collecting monthly notes to report to BOT
• Develop recruitment plan for cast members, accompanist, and orchestra and work with marketing team to implement recruitment plan
• Serve as liaison with cast regarding questions and concerns
• Provide feedback to Directors based on individual cast and patron feedback and survey data
• Provide leadership to fulfill the Vaud-Villities promise to provide engaging, live, quality entertainment that will bring joy and inspiration
• Support hiring of respective Directors for each annual production and event/series
• Spearhead efforts to engage the cast to volunteer and serve on committees to produce the shows
• Attend and prepare a monthly report for the BOT meetings hosted virtually the second Tuesday of each month
• Establish “run of show,” title, concept, and operational timeline for each show, closely following Show Guidelines as identified and set forth by the BOT
• Oversee quality of each show
• Conduct cast meetings at rehearsals, planning for activities and encouragement to motivate and lead the cast and volunteers
• Serve as lead for cast show readiness
• Coordinate, direct, & monitor the work of the Producer, Music Director, and the Movement Director, reporting noteworthy accomplishments and/or challenges to the BOT

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Budgetary and logistical project management
• A natural leader with excellent charisma
• Excellent time management skills
• Willing and able to take risks and make suggestions to move the organization forward in big ways
• A creative visionary who can encourage and inspire the cast, the staff and the BOT to reach new heights and produce quality performances
• Excellent and clear oral, verbal, and written communication skills
• Experience serving in an artistic role in a similar capacity
• Great ability to work under pressure with patience and gratitude
• Ability to manage and motivate people
