Job Title: Art Educator

Island Village Montessori School, located in Venice, Florida, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Art Educator to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities:

• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
• Encourage students to explore their artistic abilities and develop their own unique styles.
• Develop and implement engaging art lessons that align with the Montessori philosophy and are in accordance with state and national standards for students from kindergarten through eighth grade.
• Foster creativity, artistic expression, and critical thinking skills through a variety of mediums and techniques.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
• Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment that supports the growth and development of all students.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through ongoing observation, projects, and portfolios.
• Collaborate with the other arts teachers to plan and coordinate cross-curricular projects and events.

Qualifications:

• Ability to plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons that cater to the needs and interests of students.
• Bachelor's degree in Fine or Studio Arts, Art Education, or a related field
• Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of various art mediums, techniques, and art history.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior experience teaching art to students in a school setting, preferably in a Montessori or cross-curricular environment.
• Florida Certification in Art
• Passion for art education and a commitment to fostering a love for the arts in students.
