Are you an Art Director with a focus in digital design who possesses excellent visual design skills? You will thrive in this role if are a multi-disciplinary designer who feels at home in all steps of the creative process, playing a key role in strategy, user experience and branding. In this role, it will be critical that you are experienced and comfortable with the full design process from mood boards to wireframes, to design, animation prototypes, as well as development QA. This is an opportunity to define and reinvent the digital space, and a passion for doing that is critical.

Responsibilities of the Art Director for Web & Digital


  • Plan interfaces and prepare wireframes and information architecture
  • Conduct research. Participate in user interviews, and gather inputs throughout the process. Design new solutions as goals dictate.
  • Communicate clearly. Share daily status with teams. Deliver concepts to clients. Show excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills that build strong relationships.
  • Lead an end-to-end design process. Contribute visual ideas as research. Express strategic ideas through design. Communicate the rationale behind your work. Make it beautiful, and (most important) deliver what users need.
  • Explore complex problems with an open mind. Feel comfortable with ambiguity. Generate multiple solutions and make strategic design decisions in partnership with a team.
  • Create new design systems and solve problems within existing ones
  • Establish a brand vision that is informed by research, connected to business outcomes, and driven by you. Present to clients with support from the team.
  • Sweat the details. Impeccable execution and deep care given to all aspects of design, large and small: strategy, messaging, brand, colors, typography, icons — everything.
  • Love (and evolve) the process. Follow established practices and invent new ones. Evolve our process to be more thoughtful, effective, and accessible to all.


Must Haves


  • Demonstrated experience solving complex problems through elegant design
  • Experience designing and communicating about website animations and interactivity, from micro interactions to full page scroll hooks
  • Curiosity...about everything
  • A positive outlook without ego
  • A storytelling-first approach
  • A deep familiarity with contexts, screens, and device capabilities
  • Understanding of UX best practices and how to achieve them without sacrificing the goals of the client or the integrity of the design
  • An extraordinary portfolio
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Mastery of the Adobe suite, Figma and/or Sketch
  • The capacity to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Multiple years of experience as a lead digital designer


Nice to Haves


  • Experience building out Lottie animations
  • Experience prototyping in After Effects, Principle, Figma etc.
  • Webflow build experience
  • Motion graphics/motion design experience
  • Know an uncanny number of Figma quick keys
