Inventory Control Area Manager
Working independently, the Inventory Control Area Manager establishes, manages, and measures controls to ensure accurate inventory availability and shrink is maintained at a company expectable level. This is achieved through management of the Inventory Control team as well as managing control-based relationship with warehouse management teams onsite. Most activities are completed without a supervisor’s advance approval.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coach, manage, and develop a team of Inventory Control associates.
Oversees job assignments and activities of Inventory Control staff.
Build, develop, and sustain productive relationships with warehouse managers to provide feedback in areas that directly affect inventory accuracy and shrink.
Maintain a high level of inventory accuracy by working with the field, IT, and associates to enhance the perceived and actual integrity of SAP and WMS systems.
Manage the scheduling of warehouse counts and develop clear and concise instructions to ensure accurate counts and reporting of results to management.
Executes daily inventory analysis; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems.
Communicate policies to your team and act as the primary information source for the team -maintaining compliance, consistency, and taking corrective action when needed.
Support all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates.
Work overtime both in peak season and as needed
Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours
Walk in/and around the warehouse with great frequency; many facilities are over a quarter mile in length
Access all areas of building, ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways
Regularly bend, lift, stretch and reach both below the waist and above the head
Lift and move items up to 50 pounds
RELATED COMPETENCIES
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written – Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred
Ability to analyze and dive deep into data to provide thought-provoking, workable solutions
Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required – Bachelor’ degree is preferred
At least 3 years of work experience in a distribution center environment required – Supervisory experience preferred
At least 2 years of relevant inventory control work experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES
Working understanding of basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
Proficient knowledge of Windows-based computer systems and Manhattan WM are required.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel.
Expert ability to enter, organize, interpret, analyze, and report complex data
Proficient ability to communicate verbally and in writing, using English; bilingual Spanish speaking and writing skills preferred
Possess the learning capacity to receive and apply cross-functional training; willingness to assist other functions and work groups as needed so the department achieves or exceeds its overall business objectives
Ability to comprehend and adhere to all GameStop policies and procedures including, but not limited to, those related to attendance and scheduling requirements, honesty and integrity, confidentiality, safety, and conflict of interest
Proficient ability to manage multiple, overlapping priorities in a high-demand, customer-centric work environment
