MJM Architects is 100% Employee Owned Company, and it provides architectural, planning, interior design and structural engineering services to our clients on a wide range of commercial projects. MJM is seeking skilled, self-motivated individuals with experience in commercial, industrial, mixed-use and adaptive reuse projects. Responsibilities will vary with position but will include architectural conceptualization and design, production of construction documents, and direct client interaction. Job Title:
A Project Manager is a key team member that has full responsibility for multiple small to midsize projects. The Project Manager is responsible for bringing the schedule, budget, and scope of work to completion for their projects to the client’s satisfaction while maintaining the firm’s values and profitability. The Project Manager actively manages the overall performance of their projects, including budgets, schedules, communication, documentation, and project delivery.
Requirements:
• Five or more years’ experience in architecture
• One years’ experience with Project Management tasks
• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design, or commensurate experience in the profession
• Licensure Preferred
• Possesses solid technical knowledge and demonstrates creative problem solving
• Ability to work independently on construction documents. Well organized and self motivated.
• Experienced in project management, code review and analysis, construction document production, quality control and construction administration.
• Proficient in use of the tools required for their clients and projects. REVIT and/or AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
Responsibilities:
• Direct and manage themselves to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
• Coordinate staffing requirements and needs with Director/Associate/Client Manager/Senior PM in charge.
• When applicable, manage Project Coordinators assigned to assist them on projects.
• Manage overall project schedule for each project or group of projects. Communicate challenges or client-based changes to supervisor.
• Complete the project due diligence, design, construction documents, quand construction administration within budgeted hours and schedule.
• Prepare due diligence, provide code reviews, COMChecks and other similar documents necessary for design and documentation of the project.
• Issue deliverables to clients, landlords, vendors, etc. Issue projects for bidding/permitting and monitor process. Respond promptly to all RFIs and code comments.
• Review shop drawings and submittals during the construction phase.
• Perform building surveys, construction site visits, and issue reports as applicable for project type.
• Visit with Clients when requested.
• Identify change requests from clients or consultants and discuss with supervisor. Prepare Additional Service Requests for approval by supervisor.
• Provide primary communication with consultants on scope of work, schedule, delivery, and quality control for their projects.
• May communicate directly with client. When applicable, respond promptly to client communications.
• Perform work in a professional manner consistent company culture, goals, policies, procedures, and objectives.
• Ensure high productivity and process standards are met on their projects.
• Mentor and manage the Project Coordinators assigned to them when applicable.
• May assist in preparation of proposals, scope of work documents, and schedules for their projects.
• Follow all quality assurance processes to ensure the firm’s objectives are met, projects are consistent with best practices, and clients are satisfied with the quality of work.
• Promptly identify any Client satisfaction issues that Project Manager cannot address and discuss with supervisor.
• Perform other specific designated tasks as may be assigned by CEO/COO, Associates, or Directors.
