Elizabeth Hales Design is an Architecture and Interior Architecture Design Firm based in Salt Lake City, Utah with projects worldwide. We are currently seeking an Architect or architectural drafter to join our team in Salt Lake City, UT.

As an Architect, you are responsible for interpreting, organizing, and executing the conceptual design of a project utilizing creativity, foresight, and judgment to meet project requirements and objectives through project completion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership

• Produce quality contract design documents, while maintaining the firms' deliverable standards
• Responsible for daily design and technical development of projects
• Capable of leading multiple projects simultaneously
• Coordinates construction administration efforts
• Responsible for the daily coordination of internal team design efforts into the drawings and specifications, including communication and coordination with consultants
• Able to coordinate design documents with engineering consultants
• Ability to complete a full set of contract documents from Concept to CD Phase
• Provide progress oversight and monitoring of deliverables with team members, including upstream communication with project manager

Client Interface

• Regularly communicates with clients or their representatives to verify design requirements and specifications, progress reviews and delivery of final presentation.
• Works on developing a positive relationship of trust with clients.
• Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.

Teamwork

• Provide mentorship to junior team members
• Working in a collaborative studio environment under supervision of Sr Architect or Project Manager
• Collaborates with the lead Architect and Interior Architect.
• Participates in team meetings to help resolve project issues, coordination with other disciplines, schedule adherence, technical issues.
• May prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings and builds models for client/project team review.
• Assists in planning and conducting work making minor adaptations and modifications to complete working drawing set(s).
• Provides technical support and project communications to the team as required.
• Writes reports and memos to consultants and vendors to issue changes and track resolutions.
• Assists project managers and senior architects in the execution of specific assignment
• Coordinates use and tracks shared electronic documentation and files with team, clients and consultants.

Required Skills

• Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup and or Lumion software preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop preferred.
• Possess strong hand and advanced CAD drafting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of and/or ability to learn timekeeping and billing software
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency in 3D Modeling software such as 3D Studio Max is preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Qualifications

• 2 plus years’ experience preferred
• Master’s degree
