Apprentice (5Th Step Or Higher)/Journeyman Lineman

We anticipate the need for one or more Apprentice (5th Step or higher)/Journeyman Lineman at our Ashland Service Center in Ashland, WI. The position will be posted for 15 Working Days from August 11th, 2023, to August 31st, 2023. The Journeyman rate of pay for this position is $53.31 hourly. Depending on what step you'll be coming in as, the following is the pay structure:

5th Step: 80% of Journeyman rate

6th Step: 85% of Journeyman rate

7th Step: 90% of Journeyman rate

8th Step: 95% of Journeyman rate

Summary
Primary responsibilities consist of but are not limited to installation, maintenance and removal of overhead and underground distribution conductors and equipment. Must be able to climb poles, work on energized conductors and equipment, perform hot stick work on energized high voltage conductors, work in inclement weather, be available for callout work and all other work as outlined in the lineman position.

Required

• Must reside within 20 miles of the Ashland Service Center.
• Must presently be qualified to be an Adanced Step/Journeyman Lineman and have a working knowledge of all phases of Distribution and Transmission Construction, Maintenance and Operating
• Experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers and groundwork with utility line crew required
• Technical School Lineman degree is preferred
• Requires participation in after-hour emergency callouts in all kinds of weather conditions
• Must have good communication and teamwork skills
• Must be committed to working safely
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Must meet driver qualification requirements as specified in FMCSR parts 382 and 391 including the possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A
• A high awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules is required at all times

Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $42.64 to $53.31 per hour
