Job Description
Position Overview:

As an Application Security Engineer you will be responsible for assessing, designing, and implementing security measures to protect our applications, systems, and data. You will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of a robust DevSecOps program. With your team, you'll help to deliver a powerful solution to our clients, and should have a passion for performance, security, and optimization.

As a member of our Engineering Team, you'll have the chance to collaborate on exciting projects and find creative solutions to coding obstacles. Your curiosity to continue learning, as well as a knack for problem-solving , will be key to delivering innovative products to our clients and their guests, as our team members are always looking for new ways to push the boundaries of what’s possible. Location: United States; this role can be performed 100% remotely anywhere in the US
Reports to: Sr. Director of Information Security & Technology

What you'll be working on:

  • Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IAC) methodologies and tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet, to automate and secure infrastructure provisioning and deployment
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices in application security and software development
  • Develop and maintain secure coding practices, guidelines, and standards for the development team
  • Perform security assessments and code reviews to identify vulnerabilities and risks in applications, systems, and infrastructure
  • Implement and manage a DevSecOps program to ensure continuous security integration and delivery
  • Continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize API security and IAC practices, staying current with emerging trends and technologies to ensure the ongoing protection and efficiency of accesso's applications and infrastructure
  • Design and implement security controls and countermeasures to mitigate identified risks
  • Work with DevOps teams to monitor and optimize the use of Pipeline and Cloud services, providing example solutions for integrating tools into the development workflows
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce secure API design and implementation guidelines, ensuring consistent security across all APIs, and collaborate with development and operations teams to embed API security best practices throughout the SDLC
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, providing timely remediation and reporting
  • Develop and deliver security training and awareness programs for developers and other stakeholders
  • Participate in the selection and implementation of security tools and technologies

What you bring to this role:

  • Expert knowledge of container security and secrets management (Docker/Kubernetes/EKS/GKE/AKS/Service Meshes)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Information Security, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages.
  • 3+ years of experience securing cloud and containerized applications
  • Working experience with configuration management
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a DevSecOps or DevOps role
  • Has demonstrated experience successfully collaborating with others in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • 3+ years of experience applying security testing in CI/CD pipelines
